Neat Nets with Scrumptious Sweets

 Kia Ora bloggers!

In Numeracy we've been learning things to do with 3d shapes and nets.

In today's and yesterday's Numeracy lessons we got to get some random candy/chocolates and got to make packaging nets for them.

I got four small peanut butter cups and decided to make this net:

This is how it turned out:

Have you ever made nets? What did you make?
Can you think of any examples of candy box nets?

Perfect past vs present + helpful hangi poster

Kia ora bloggers!

We've been doing a lot around traditional Maori culture this term so far.

First of all we had to make a slide comparing the past and present of some traditional Maori culture-related items or things.

link in case the embed doesn't work: here

The second thing is that we had to make a poster around the hangi's past and present. Comparing the traditional, to the modern.

Have you ever had a hangi? How long did it take to make? What did you eat?

Holidays and some Terrific Translations

 Kia ora Bloggers!

Last term of the year, exciting! We only have 10 weeks left!

Sadly the Holidays are now over and honestly I just want to be at home on my couch but at least I got to do some fun stuff during the time I wasn't at school. Also Maths but that's later.

It was my birthday in the first weekend in the Holidays so I ended up inviting Zoe to come over to my house, play on my switch and have dinner at restaurant with my family at Welcome.

She got me Barney the Dinosaur.

I have once chopped off Barney the Dinosaur's head.

Good choice.

Also I do want to add that we tried to figure out how to play Scribblenauts and ended up:

- Invading a city with cockroaches (and killing one)

- Turned everything rainbow

- Murdered an entire restaurant with a wand we stole from a wizard

- Made poisoned pill food and fed it to everyone at the restaurant

- Tried to feed a dude a vegan person because we couldn't kill him because he was sitting down

- Helped a raccoon rob a bank

- Gave a tree man wings (and used him as transport)

- Started a band with Albert Einstein and some random dudes in the Subway

- Almost killed the whole band with a dinosaur

- Saved the day and made it friendly

- Accidentally removed the friendly and made it kill everyone

- Also we threw things at a carnival game (side note: we tried to throw the person running the game and it does not work sadly. Even changed his name to 'Throwable')

Also the food at Welcome was really good I recommend going there.

We also tried to summon Iroh from ATLA using jasmine tea and Barney. No judging here we've done worse. (Also I laughed into my tea and spilt it on Zoe)

...

Anyways,

Maths.

We're learning about Translations at the moment, which is basically moving something to specific co-ordinates using vectors.

QUALITY BLOG POSTTTT

ayyeeeeeee

hawyee

So have you ever tried to summon Uncle Iroh from ATLA with tea?

Which kind of tea and where?

Did it work?

Cya Bloggers! Please don't be concerned I swear I'm almost okay.

SKEETER Sign Language

Kia Ora Bloggers!

How are you? Happy NZSL week! In celebration of it, we have been using this super fun website called sign ninja where you can learn to sign NZSL. Did you know that NZSL is one of New Zealand's three national languages?

There was a lot of stuff to learn on there, but sadly I had to share with Zoe Cowles because my device is too old to use the site.

Here's my video of me signing my name.

The Delightful Dream Dilemma. (Dreams Science Report)

In Literacy we've been doing a lot of science.

After a few weeks of doing science experiments our teacher Mr G set up, we were told to organise and do our own experiments. Me and Felix decided to do one about 'Are fingerprints inherited?' but it ended up being too complicated to do and we couldn't finish it in time, so Mr G said everyone that couldn't finish their experiments had to make scientific reports on some set topics, or on our own topics, which was harder.

I did mine on dreams and dreaming, here it is!

Don't feed ducks bread!

Heya Bloggers!

At school we've had a few ducks around the field, and people have been feeding them a lot of bread, (which has caused them to poop everywhere) so in the afternoon we were told to either

a. Go play some semi-chaotic sport outside

b. Follow a long and complicated drawing tutorial

c. Make a slideshow or video about why you shouldn't feed ducks bread

I chose c.

Here's the animation I made on flipanim! (Using my trackpad only, which was very painful)

Here's the link if it doesn't load! vvv

Passionate paramount parody patient peaceful playful plain perfect placid pleasant personable pariah paranoid parity PSA.

Kia Ora Bloggers!
On Wednesdays we've been doing coding and learning to read and write python on a website called Codesters.
We were challenged to make a PSA (Public Service Announcement) about a problem of our choosing, and I chose bullying. We can't link, embed or share our projects to anyone other than the people in our classroom, though.

Do you understand any of the lines in the Python? What would you make a PSA on?
That's all for today, folks! Cya next time?
