Marvellous Mashup

Kia ora bloggers!
In Literacy we've been making websites based on The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy.
We have to write various things about the book, like the themes, characters, symbols and genre. For themes I chose to write about Language, Power and Absurdity.
This has been a really fun and interesting task and although I'm not completely finished yet I'm really proud of what I've done so far! Google sites is really fun to use and play around with.

Recently we've also been looking at Global Issues. We were given art based on different issues and first we had to write down what we thought the images represented, then we chose one and wrote 1-2 paragraphs about it. I chose this drawing of a nurse with a superhero mask.

Have you ever used google sites before? What did you make?
I hope you have a wonderful day, cya!

Incredible Irony Comic - Outside Antics

Kia Ora bloggers!
Yesterday in class we dug a bit deeper into irony. We learnt about three different types of it, dramatic irony, situational irony and verbal irony. We learnt that situational irony means showing the opposite of what you expect to happen, dramatic irony is when the viewers know something the characters don't and verbal irony is when you basically say the opposite of what you mean, usually sarcastic. After that we watched a couple videos and were then challenged to make an ironic comic.
This is me and Zoe's comic, it's situational irony.
